CELEBRATE LGBT BAR LA'S The LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles Annual Gala is the largest event the Association holds each year. The event honors individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to education, human rights, and equality for the LGBTQ+ community. For more than ten years, the Gala has been themed to spotlight important issues to the LGBTQ+ community including marriage equality, military service, adoption, employment, and unity. This year's theme is "Pride Without Borders." LGBTQ+ people continue to be persecuted globally. This year’s Gala honors the hard work of advocates to protect LGBTQ+ refugees. Immigration Equality is this year’s recipient of our Community Service award. Immigration Equality is the leading LGBTQ immigrant rights organization in the country. Each year, it provides advice and legal services to thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-positive immigrants seeking refuge fair treatment, and freedom in the United States. The range of honorees at the event celebrates the diversity of LGBTQ+ advocates. Our Community Partner of the Year Award will be given to ShepardMullin, in recognition of the firm’s long history of promoting LGBTQ+ equality within the organization, and in its pro bono work. And we will recognize Isa Noyola with our Co-Presidents Award for her outstanding and innovative advocacy on self determination for all people and empowering translatinas to feel protected, loved, is order to develop themselves. |
