For the Month of September we are continuing with our intimate Dinner of X gatherings and this month we are doing a distillery tour and tasting event.
We will gather at the Lost Spirits Distillery in the Arts District at 6:30 pm on September 21st, 2018 (Friday). From there we will walk over to a local restaurant for dinner before the tour. The tour starts at 8 pm sharp - don't be late or be left out!
Registration is for Members of the LGBT Bar LA only. It's a great opportunity to meet and socialize with members of the bar in a more intimate way that you cannot always get at large mixers. Lost Spirits Distillery is a creative design house & laboratory producing some of the world’s most extreme and unique spirits, including high-ester rums and peated single malts. On your visit, you'll enjoy a 4 - 6 "course" tasting menu with the people who make it.
Tours typically last 90 min-2 hours and include a journey through every step of the spirits-making (and imagining) process, from inception and raw ingredients to the finished product. You'll also be guided through the lab to see current experiments and upcoming releases. Set in the Arts District of Los Angeles, the facility is immersive and the laboratory is legendary in the industry. The distillery was engineered and constructed by the five working partners without use of contractors or outside labor.
IMPORTANT REGULATORY NOTICES, RESTRICTIONS, AND INFORMATION:
- You must be 21 years of age to enter a working distillery. Identification will be required at the distillery gates.
- The tour includes terrain unsuitable for high heels or open-toe shoes. Please plan your footwear accordingly. Also, the facility can reach temperatures ~85 degrees, so we encourage lighter clothing choices or layers.
- Some medications, including marijuana, can cause undesired effects when combined with high-proof alcohol. Appropriate precautions are recommended in advance of your tour.
- We encourage you to have a designated sober driver or use a car service to get you home safe.
Rules/FAQ
1. How long is the Tour?
Journeys through the distillery, lab, and surrounding terrain typically take 2 hours.
2. May I use my camera on the tour and are there any spots off limits?
You may use your camera, but please, refrain from using your flash when photographing. Pictures are allowed anywhere on the tour except in the laboratory.
3. May I bring my kids?
No. The distillery is for people of ages 21 and up only .
4. Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code, however, due to the rough terrain, flat shoes are recommended. NOTE: High heels are unsafe in this environment and are not permitted.
5. Is there parking?
Yes, however, parking can be very difficult in the Arts District. Be sure to check all signs on the street as some spots are ticketed after 8 PM. There is a paid lot next to the LA Gun Club and Officine Brera. Many people often choose to take Uber/Lyft.
6. Do you serve food and are there additional drinks for sale?
Food is not served and additional drinks are not available for purchase on the tour. However, there are great places within walking distance to eat and imbibe.
